Arbury Road walking to school

Arbury Road is heavily used by road traffic, cyclists and walkers. It provides access to local facilities such as schools, GP surgery, places of worship and local shops. It also provides a route to bridges across the river to the south and central part of the city.

Arbury Road is an important for walkers and cyclists.
It is the main route for school children to the North Academy and provides access to local shops and other facilities as well as a route from the north to the south of the city.
The roadway is busy, narrow and congested. The pavements are narrow and are used by many cyclists including children going to school.
Better management of traffic, provision of safe cycle lanes and improvements to the pavements would improve safety for pedestrians.
